Sadly jar sauces and pastes are made with a lot of oil alongside the herbs and spices. This means they have to be synned.. but I find they taste so much better than trying to go it alone.
But my theory is, you are usually making a curry to serve more than one person. The Syns are spread out, and as long as you use Syn free ingredients alongside the paste you are not breaking too many Syn barriers!
Patak’s Madras Paste Pots 2 x 70g – 10
Patak’s Korma Paste Pots 2 x 70g – 8
Patak’s Balti Spice Paste 283g – 2 per tablespoon
Patak’s Rogan Josh Spice Paste 283g – 1.5 per tablespoon
Patak’s Jalfrezi Spice Paste 283g – 2 per tablespoon
Patak’s Rogan Josh Paste Pots 2 x 70g – 9
Patak’s Vindaloo Spice Paste 283g – 2 per tablespoon
Patak’s Hot Curry Spice Paste 283g – 2 per tablespoon
Patak’s Kashmiri Masala Spice Paste 295g – 2 per tablespoon
Patak’s Original Balti Curry Paste 2.3kg – 2.5 per tablespoon
Patak’s Garam Masala Spice Paste 283g – 2 per tablespoon
Patak’s Vindaloo Curry Paste 2.2L – 4 per tablespoon

What do you think about using Patak’s pastes? Are they worth the Syns or do you avoid them altogether? Have you created a meal using them? I’d love to see photos! Please comment and share your thoughts below.
